A lot of the problems that Brendon points out are long standing ways in which the broadcast industry has traditionally operated. And it is not just in lags in air times in different countries due to licensing windows, but in the time that it takes for many projects to get green lit and then aired once they are completed. This causes a delay in getting the current fads and hot topic issues out the viewing public of months to years. If the broadcast industry is going to properly embrace the world of new media, they need to understand that if this lag is too long they are going to lose their viewers to a new source of media and information.
It is time for a change in how we think and operate in traditional media.
